What you will fill in
- Which province is the rental home in?
- Your full name (tenant)
- Landlord's full legal name
- Address of the rental unit
- Monthly rent ($)
- When was (or is) the rent due?
- How much can you pay now ($)?
- By what date will you pay the rest?
- Date of this document
Good to know
- Ask before the rent is late if you can. Landlords say yes more often when you ask early and pay part of it.
- The rent is still legally owed. A landlord can say no, and can still serve a notice for unpaid rent unless you both sign a written change.
- If the landlord agrees, use our Temporary Rent Deferral Agreement so you both have the deal in writing. In Ontario, 211 and your local community legal clinic can point you to rent bank help.
