Good to know
- A pleasure craft with a motor of 10 hp (7.5 kW) or more needs a pleasure craft licence. The buyer must transfer it into their name with Transport Canada within 90 days, and this bill of sale is the proof they need.
- A boat on the Canadian Register of Vessels (registered, not just licensed) changes owner with Transport Canada's own bill of sale form, filed with the Registrar. Use this document as well, for the price and condition.
- A boat trailer has its own Ontario ownership permit and plate. Transfer it at ServiceOntario like any trailer.
- Check the HIN on the hull matches this document and the licence before any money changes hands.
