Start this document $2.99 or in the monthly planHow it works
What you will fill in
- Client's name and address
- Developer's name and address
- What software will be built?
- Milestones, dates and payments
- Total price ($)
- Days the client has to test each delivery
- Who owns the finished code?
- Free bug-fix period after launch (days)
- Which province's laws apply?
- Date of this document
Good to know
- In Canada, the developer owns the copyright in code they write as a contractor unless a signed written agreement says otherwise (Copyright Act s. 13(4)). This agreement does that.
- Put the source code in a shared repository (like GitHub) the client controls, so the client is never locked out.
- Keep each milestone small and testable. Pay only after acceptance.
