Good to know
- In Ontario there is no legal right to return an in-store purchase just because you changed your mind. Your posted policy is what customers get, so post it at the till and on receipts.
- Online sales: under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002, a customer may cancel if goods are not delivered within 30 days after the promised delivery date, and you must refund within 15 days of their cancellation notice.
- Faulty goods are different: customers keep their legal rights for products that are defective or not as described.
