What you will fill in
- Your organization's name and address
- Contact person for questions (name and email)
- Name of the project
- Short background about you
- What you need (scope of work)
- How will you choose?
- Last day for questions
- Deadline for proposals
- Time and how to send
- What kind of process is this?
- Date this RFP is issued
Good to know
- Keep the privilege clause: it lets you reject any proposal, including the lowest, and cancel the RFP. Courts in Canada enforce it, but you must still treat bidders fairly.
- Use only the selection criteria you published. Using a secret criterion is a common reason Canadian bidders win lawsuits.
- Public bodies (cities, school boards, hospitals) have extra rules, such as Ontario's Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive and trade agreements.
