Good to know
- Get a written, itemized estimate after the mover sees your things in person or by video. Ontario law caps the bill at 10% over a written estimate unless you agree to a new one.
- Check your home insurance: it may cover goods in transit. Basic mover liability is very low.
- Never let a mover hold your goods for extra money not in the agreement. Call the police and Consumer Protection Ontario (1-800-889-9768).
