Good to know
- Sharing profits can make a court treat you as a partnership (each partner liable for all debts) under the Partnerships Act. For a big project, many people form a new corporation owned by both sides.
- Open a separate bank account for the project, and require two signatures for large payments.
- Agree in writing how either side can get out if the project stalls: buy-out price, or sell and split.
