What you will fill in
- Your full legal name (the deponent)
- Your city or town
- Your full address
- Who receives the gift?
- Their relationship to you
- Gift amount ($)
- Date the money was or will be given
- What is it for?
- Where does the money come from?
- City where you will swear it
- Date you will swear it
Good to know
- Many lenders have their own gift letter form. If yours does, fill theirs too; this sworn version is extra proof.
- The money must not be repaid. If it is really a loan, saying it is a gift is mortgage fraud.
- Bring a bank statement showing the money leaving your account and arriving in theirs.
