Good to know
- Collect only what you need. Don't ask for a SIN or a driver's licence number unless the law or the service truly needs it.
- Lock paper forms away and use passwords and encryption for digital ones. A privacy breach with a real risk of harm must be reported to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and the client.
- Quebec (Law 25), Alberta and BC have their own private sector privacy laws. They are similar to PIPEDA.
